Here I am with Milo our stooge dog outside one of the Primary Schools, and in the hall of another where we have delivered our Dog Awareness and Safety assembly to.

Here at D4dog we provide a wrap around services for dog owners in the Newton Abbot and surrounding areas. We provide a Walking Service, Dog (& Pet) Sitting, Dog Training, Behavioural Support and Modification. We also provide education and training for humans, from Primary school age to adulthood.

We aim to support owners and their dogs to allow them to live their best lives.

Many of our dogs, start with D4dogs in need of support with their behaviour and go on to become long term ‘walking dogs’ going out with the team each week, sometimes every day.

Our approach at D4dog is driven by the knowledge that every dog is unique and requires a unique holistic approach to support to reach its full potential.

As a behaviourist I know that one approach may work with one dog, but not with another, in may respects this is the key skill of a behaviourist, understanding the dog, its needs, its breed, its experiences and environment and how these all play important roles in determining how a dog behaves and how it responds to training and behaviour modification.

Here we have a mixed group of dogs, 3 collies, 1 Cypriot street dog and 1 Romanian rescue dog. all the same species, but different types of dogs, even the 3 collies have markedly different personalities, drives, interests and personalities. Knowing this, understanding this and acting accordingly, is crucial to successful training and behaviour modification.

I place a great deal of importance on maintaining an up to date understanding of developments in Canine Science and dog behaviour and training approaches, ensuring that I utilise best practice for all the dogs I work with.
